NFL Pick’em Sheet
An NFL pick’em sheet is a one-page list of the week’s games with a box next to each team, a line for the player’s name and a tiebreaker box at the bottom. That is all a pool needs on paper. What a pick’em sheet needs
- Every game of the week in kickoff order, Thursday first, Monday last, with the day and time so nobody picks a game that already started.
- Away team at home team, with the home team on the right or clearly marked.
- A checkbox per team. Circles and initials get messy by Week 6.
- A name and contact line so the commissioner knows whose sheet it is.
- The tiebreaker box: total points in the Monday night game.
- The week and season in the header so old sheets do not get mixed in.
Three versions of the sheet
Winner sheet
Games and checkboxes only. Used for straight-up pools where one correct pick is one point. The standard office sheet.
Spread sheet
Adds the point spread next to each team, for example -6.5 beside the favorite and +6.5 beside the underdog. Used for against-the-spread pools. Print it when the pool freezes its lines and write the print time on it, so everyone is graded on the same numbers. Read the against the spread guide for grading rules.
Confidence sheet
Adds a points column where each player writes a number from 16 down to 1, each used once. Used for confidence pools. The commissioner checks for duplicate numbers when the sheet is handed in.
Free printable sheets for every week
You do not need to build a sheet in Excel or Word. How to score sheets on Monday night
- Mark the winners on a master sheet as the games finish. The weekly games pages show final scores.
- Count correct picks on each player’s sheet. In a confidence pool, add the numbers next to correct picks instead.
- Write the total on the sheet and on the standings list.
- For ties, compare the tiebreaker guess to the actual Monday night total. Closest wins.
- Keep the sheets until the next week is scored, in case of a dispute.
Scoring ten sheets takes about twenty minutes. Scoring thirty takes an hour, every week, which is why most pools above a dozen players move online.

How do I handle a game that moves days?
If it moves within the week, picks stand. If it moves to another week, cross it off and reduce the maximum score for that week.
